Founded by Peppeddu Palimodde and his wife, Pasqua, this family-owned hamlet set amid ancient olive trees and vineyards is six miles east of the charming town of Oliena in the province of Nuoro. Public areas, including an indoor-outdoor restaurant specializing in hearth-grilled meats and other rustic regional dishes, are decorated with museum-quality Sardinian art and handicrafts. Many of the 68 attractive lodgings feature handcarved wooden furnishings, fireplaces, separate living areas, intricate embroidery and terra-cotta tile floors. Amenities include a spa, a gym, a grass tennis court and an 80-foot pool open from April to mid-October. Cooking, art and yoga classes, plus horseback riding and kayaking, can be arranged.
