Ashley Smith is the Andrew Harper Auctions Travel Advisor. A Colorado native with a degree in psychology from Colorado University, Ashley is always planning her next trip. She inherited her love of travel, people and new places from her family, who instilled in her the importance of being open-minded and experiencing other cultures. She considers herself a brunch enthusiast and enjoys weekends wine tasting in the Texas Hill Country. Most unexpected thing you’ve discovered on a trip:
On a three-week tour of Thailand two years ago, another traveler and I were called out by our guides because we had both spontaneously booked the trip exactly four days before we were supposed to leave. We obviously shared the same travel spirit and have become best friends—something I never would have anticipated!

Iceland
If you had to live in a hotel forever, which one would it be:
Giraffe Manor in Kenya.
Most out-of-the-way place you’ve ever found yourself:
Neuschwanstein Castle in a small town called Schwangau in Bavaria, Germany.
Dream travel buddy:
My grandfather. I never got to meet him, but he was a World War II pilot and he traveled all over the world. I’d love to travel with someone who had so much wisdom already.
What makes you a smart traveler:
I do a lot of research before I go, and I pack light. I am very go with the flow, yet I’m aware of my surroundings.

The Northern Lights.

Kayaking through the limestone pillars in Koh Phi Phi, Thailand.
