Save Thousands With Travel Auctions

The word “auctions” typically conjures a fast-talking guy with a gavel or the website eBay. But auctions aren’t just for antiques, art and collectibles. They’re also great for saving on travel.

For the last nine years, Andrew Harper has offered hotel, cruise and villa auction packages with spectacular savings on destinations around the world. This year we have even more travel auctions — 30 per week — along with more significant discounts. All winning bidders can save thousands, but participants who have never bid and won before will get $100 off their first winning bid.

Just how much can you save? One of our recent high bidders won four all-inclusive nights in a luxury villa at Azura Benguerra, Mozambique, for $1,900 — 70% off the regular price of $6,360.

Every Tuesday at 4 p.m. CST, 30 Andrew Harper-recommended properties go up for auction, and would-be travelers have five days to put in a bid to win a luxury stay at a fraction of the retail cost. For those unwilling to wait and risk not being the top bidder, a “buy now” option lets them win the package immediately.

How our travel auctions work

• Go to Harper Auctions, which lists 30 properties each week.
• Log in, or if you are a first-time user, register. You will be prompted to add your credit card information, but you will not be charged until you win the auction of your choice.
• Find a hotel in a place you’ve always wanted to go. Check the blackout dates and expiration date listed to the left, noting that other blackout dates may also apply.
• If your travel dates are specific, we recommend contacting us as soon as possible to be sure the hotel has those dates open. Call our Auctions Travel Advisor at 800-375-4685 or use the “Check Availability” box on the left side of the page to request specific dates. This is an important step, as all sales are final.
• Your Auctions Travel Advisor will reach out to the hotel about availability, and she will contact you as soon as she gets confirmation.
• When you are ready, go ahead and enter a maximum bid. You’ll receive an email notification updating you on your auction item. If you win, you will receive an email to complete your purchase.
• If you aren’t interested in getting into a bidding war, click on the “Buy Now” option and the package will be yours immediately.
