Located at the northern end of the Barossa Valley, this elegant 15-suite contemporary country house hotel is set amid beautifully landscaped grounds that overlook neat rows of vines. The main building houses the reception area, the acclaimed Appellation restaurant, a wine bar, a sauna, a fitness center and an infinity swimming pool (open October through April). Suites include pretty stone-walled interior courtyards, limestone baths, peaceful sitting rooms with high ceilings, crown moldings, gas fireplaces, contemporary paintings and separate bedrooms with counter desks and comfortable beds. The recommended Seppeltsfield Suites have French doors that open to spacious private vineyard-facing terraces with chaises longues. Wine-tasting sessions and cooking classes can be arranged, as well as tours of the valley in vintage cars and guided bicycle trips. The hotel does not permit children under the age of 10.
