This beachfront colonial-style plantation resort is now owned by Four Seasons and features 107 rooms, suites and residential-style villas connected by a bridge to Nassau on the mainland of New Providence Island. Terraced steps lead down from the Versailles-inspired gardens to the outdoor pool. Lodgings have private balconies or patios with garden or ocean views and butler service available. Request a Luxury Beachfront Room in the Crescent Wing or one of the spacious oceanview rooms in the Hartford Wing. Garden View units are not recommended. DUNE, by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, serves French-Asian cuisine with Bahamian influences, and a poolside grill is available as well. Amenities include a spa with eight Balinese-style treatment rooms, three swimming pools (one is adults-only), a five-mile beach, a gym, six tennis courts and a nearby golf course designed by Tom Weiskopf. Kids’ programs are also available for those traveling with children.
